submission guidelines

  1. Artists may submit one (1) or two (2) art pieces (s) for the 2025 Youth Art Open Exhibit.
  2. ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS: All works must be original compositions that are ready for gallery presentation. 2D art should be dry, mounted or framed, and ready to hang with screw eyes/D-rings and wire attached.  Check out this informative video about how to wire your 2D piece! Please note that sawtooth hangers and uni-frames will not be accepted. If a special display is needed (e.g., an easel, a jewelry display, etc.), the artist will provide it when they deliver their artwork. Artist must label the special display with artwork title, medium, artist's name, price, and dimensions (these must match the information the artist has provided in their submission form).
  3. Prior to delivery, the artist must label each piece with the artwork title, medium, artist's name, price, and dimensions that they have provided in their submission form. Labeling each piece in this way makes it easier to find their pieces during pick-up after the exhibit ends.
  4. Artists will deliver their artwork to Art Center East on these drop-off dates: Saturday, October 25 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm or Wednesday, October 29 from 12:30 - 4:30 pm.
  5. For each artwork sold, ACE will retain $5.00 of the sale. Artists: please price your artwork accordingly. Artwork does not have to be for sale: you may choose “NFS” (Not for Sale).
  6. If their artwork is for sale, the artist must fill out an IRS W-9 form and deliver the form with their artwork at time of drop-off. Payment for artwork will be sent on the fifth day of the month that follows the purchase date.
  7. The submitted art must be the artist's own work. Artists grant ACE the exclusive right to sell the work(s) on consignment for the duration of the exhibit. Artwork(s) will remain for sale as listed for the duration of the exhibit.
  8. Artwork submitted for the Youth Art Open Exhibit must be the intellectual property of the submitting artist. In the process of exhibiting and marketing art, ACE may photograph and/or video record artworks. Artists give their permission for ACE to circulate images of their artwork for exhibition promotion and marketing.
  9. A parent or legal guardian must sign the submission form if the artist is under 18 years of age.
