Join us for a beginner-friendly, fun class on Zen Rock Wrapping! In this creative workshop, you’ll learn how to wrap rocks using materials such as leather, string, and jute, and explore decorative techniques using small glass chips and other tiny rocks.
Rock wrapping is a fun way to transform simple stones from nature into beautiful, handcrafted art pieces. Teaching Artist Marie will show you three different wrapping styles, guiding you through the creation of your own unique pieces of rock art. A bit of finger dexterity is required. You’ll take home three wrapped rocks, one glued rock, and a burlap bag to hold them: perfect for gifting or keeping for yourself! Decorated rocks are a great showcase of your creativity. Join the class for a relaxing and artistic experience! Please note that the use of caning will not be taught in this class. All supplies included. Please enter through the 5th Street door.

Marie Orton has always loved doing arts and crafts, and since she retired, she has had more time to explore her love of art. She especially loves watercolor, mixed media, and drawing. Marie continues to be delighted with her discovery of the art of Zen Rock Wrapping using leather, string, and caning.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
