ACE Writing Project: Storytelling Night
August 28, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
This month, join the ACE Writing Project for a night of oral storytelling revolving around a set theme. Everyone has their own story and all are invited to share a piece of that story with a willing audience. No story to tell? Storytelling Night is very much for you – come build community though listening. It is inside the listener that story gains meaning and the power to transform.
If you feel like sharing a story, here’s what you need to know:
The evening’s theme is: “An experience of home.” Come with a story in mind that connects with this phrase.
You will place your name in a hat when you arrive. If your name is plucked from the hat, you will be one of the evening’s storytellers. We will have time for 3 or 4 stories.
Please keep your story to ten minutes or less.
After the storytelling, both tellers and audience will have a chance to engage in a dialogue about storytelling and its role in our contemporary lives.
Facilitators: Laura Hudson & Maurizio Valerio
Cost: Free Admission
Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time.
