Acrylics for Aspiring Artists (Ages 14-18)

Learn to love acrylic painting in a laid-back atmosphere with Teaching Artist Megan! No painting experience necessary. Megan will teach you how to use acrylic paints, and you’ll follow a model painting to create a bold and vibrant picture of a still life from start to finish. For this workshop, the still life you’ll work from will be a Native American blanket draped over a chair, plants, and a sheep skull. You’ll leave the workshop with your beautiful artwork and the confidence to continue practicing acrylic painting! All supplies included. Please enter through the 5th Street door.

Megan McGuinness is a contemporary acrylic painter and illustrator who loves working with bright colors and deep contrasts. Megan was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, but she has spent most of her adult life in Bend and Eastern Oregon. An archaeologist by day, Megan enjoys exploring new landscapes and learning about the larger world we live in. In her spare time, she loves cross-country skiing and hiking with her dog, Howdy.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
