Batik Watercolor Class
March 16 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm$70 – $85
Come get your batik on! We’ll paint a watercolor composition with the batik method. Batik uses wax to resist the pigments, giving you many options for creating interesting patterns and layers with the paint and wax. Class fee includes batik supplies and paper. Student are responsible for additional supplies – see list at below. Please enter through the 5th Street door. (Age 12+) Date: March 16 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Teaching Artists: Jan Clark and Denise Elizabeth Stone Cost: $70 Member/ $85 Non-member Teaching Artist Bios: Jan Clark and Denise Elizabeth Stone both are members of the Batik Convergence. Both Jan and Denise are multiple media specialists including experts at Batik Watercolors. The instructors are supplying all of the special supplies such as wax, ink, and paper. Please bring as much of the following as possible. Teaching Artists will bring some supplies to share with those who don’t have them. Watercolors:
- Bring what you have. Inexpensive sets are available at La Grande Paint & Glass.
- Bring a variety of sizes if you have them.
- Paper towels
- Old hand towel
- Support board for your paper (about 16” x 20” and it can be cardboard),
- 10-15 sheets of newspaper (optional)
- Water container
- Pencil & eraser
- Spray bottle
- Photos or sketches for inspiration (optional)
SUPPLIES CAN BE FOUND AT LA GRANDE PAINT & GLASS. Bring in this supply list and receive 10% off of your class supplies.
Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation.
