Beginning Watercolor: Art for the Blues (Age 18+)

Have you had watercolor lessons? Perhaps you’re a self-taught artist? Join “Art for the Blues”, a class specifically designed for beginning and intermediate watercolor artists who wish to practice their skills! Teaching Artist Ann will review the basics of watercolor – flat washes, gradient washes, and glazing techniques – then she’ll guide you in creating simple designs on small 2” x 4” gift tags. At the end of class, you’ll take home three to six tags. All supplies are provided, but you’re encouraged to bring your own supplies if you have them. Please enter through the 5th Street door.

Ann Yoder discovered watercolor in high school. Two of her art teachers gave her a watercolor kit upon graduation and, with their encouragement, she decided to pursue a degree in commercial and graphic design. Ann worked in marketing and design and painted for several galleries in Sun Valley, Idaho, for galleries on the Oregon coast, for Made in Oregon, and locally.  She decided to work in marketing and interior design after a tough economy forced many galleries to close. Ann returned to painting watercolors professionally to explore new opportunities available to artists and share some of her journey with others. Ann is very thankful to the teachers before her who whispered, “Keep painting.”
