Explore writing poetry using forms that are not well-known! Teaching Artist Amelia, a local poet and author, will show you what tanka, lipogram, aubade, and beautiful outlaw poems have in common. No writing experience necessary. Poets and non-poets alike will enjoy this fun, no-pressure workshop! You’ll discover that these forms allow your subconscious to do the work of generating pieces of literary art you had no idea you could create. You’ll leave class with four possible starts of poems – or perhaps even polished poems if the muses collaborate and the fates oblige. Please enter through the 5th Street door.
