Botanical Window Hanging (Age 18+)

Discover the beauty of stained glass and nature combined in this unique three-hour workshop! Learn how to encase delicate pressed botanicals – from Laughing Girl Farm in Cove – between two beveled, clear glass triangles to create a stunning, light-catching work of art. Guided by Teaching Artist Ginger, you’ll explore the basics of glass cutting, copper foiling, and soldering to craft your own one-of-a-kind design. The workshop is open to beginners as well as those who already have experience working with stained glass. All supplies included; the only thing you need to bring is your creativity! Ginger Moore is a retired preschool teacher who recently moved to La Grande. She has been practicing stained glass for nine years. Her favorite aspect about working with glass is seeking out intriguing colors, reimagining new designs, and placing the cut pieces together like a puzzle. Ginger says, “Stained glass is like a cross between putting together puzzles and coloring in coloring books.” Ginger enjoys gardening, crafting, and sewing as other pastimes.
