Art Center East presents Fire Stories, an exhibit featuring photographs from John F. Marshall. Fire Stories looks back in time through pairings of panoramic images taken from forest fire lookouts, comparing those of today to ones from the mid-1930s.
Art Center East is honored to announce an upcoming fundraiser, the Canoy Benefit Exhibit, in the Co-Op Gallery featuring work from the late artist Craig Canoy and other regional artists.
Berenice Chavez's photography explores themes of family, love, separation, and belonging via images of her family's domestic life.

Embrace the Unknown features artwork in the fluid acrylic medium, the hallmark of which is mesmerizing swirls of color and texture. Henderson’s show is ACE’s first online exhibit. It includes images of the paintings and an audio artist interview.
Damian Garcia is an emerging artist from Los Angeles, California who recently relocated back to his home state after studying art at Eastern Oregon University. His work focuses on layered images using ballpoint pen and acrylic paint on wood panels.
Art After Death, features Union County at-risk youths. The exhibition is coordinated and curated by Theo Miller, a diversion counselor at the Union County Juvenile Department who leads its “Creative Arts” classes at Art Center East. Art After Death is the fourth showcase of works created in these free weekly classes, open to participants 18 years old and younger.
Local artist and ACE ceramics instructor, Trevor Durr, showcases his newest body of work which stems from his functional pottery. Expanding on the imagery used on his mugshot mug series, he depicts distinguished icons at a large, raw, and vulnerable state; revealing we’re all human.
What’s in a day? Local artist Jeremy Clark in the Co-op Gallery will explore the separate moments of one day - hope, anticipation, the unexpected and the inevitable - with a progression of oil, charcoal, and multimedia pieces.
Local artist and ACE instructor, Theresa Henderson, showcases her exploration of the acrylic pour technique. This fluid and fun painting style (which Theresa teaches at ACE!) allows for improvisation and an explosion of color on the canvas.
Olivia Starks interviewed women both on the EOU campus and in the community about statistics involving sexual harassment, discrimination, and abuse. Her exhibit, with film images, will be in the Co-op gallery until June 2.
As part of the Big Read, Art Center East will host a “Museum of Civilization,” similar to that depicted in Station Eleven, this
year’s featured book by Emily St. John Mandel. Rather than a museum you visit, the “Museum of Civilization” is one you also help build.
Local artist Diana Dominguez will exhibit her paintings in the new Co-op Gallery at Art Center East.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
