Costume Design: Build a Costume for Your Favorite Toy (Age 8-12)

Create the perfect costume for your favorite toy! Students will learn about costume design elements, draw/paint a preliminary costume design, and build a costume with materials that they can find at home. Students will gain the know-how to create future designs at home and new vocabulary that can help them when discussing literature and/or theatre. There will be hand-sewing involved. Students need to bring their favorite character toy (doll, stuffed animal, etc.) to each class. Students will need to bring enough fabric for the toy’s costume (approx. 1-2 yards of fabric depending on the size of the toy) to the second class. Other supplies provided. Please enter through the 5th Street door.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
