Grant Writing I

The work of rural communities can be enhanced with funds from Oregon foundations. Grant Writing I provides an introductory overview of the grant-writing process: preparing organization information, drafting a project description and budget, harnessing foundation attention through strong statements of need and rationale, and locating appropriate funders. This course is appropriate for non-profit organizations, teachers and district personnel, artists seeking grants to support their work, and writers wishing to contribute to their communities through grant writing. Participants should bring writing materials, a laptop or other device with Internet access, and project ideas. Please enter through the 5th Street door.

Teaching Artist Bio: Nancy Knowles is Professor of English/Writing at Eastern Oregon University. She has been writing grants in Oregon and teaching students to write them for more than a decade.
Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation.
