Intro to Collage (Age 12+)
January 26 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Break loose from creative block by exploring a wonderfully freeing and enjoyable art form! In this class, you’ll explore surrealism through the art of mess-making and collage with Teaching Artist Hannah as your guide. Hannah will teach several techniques, including gouache imprints, image transfers, paper layering, texture application, and line drawing. You’ll also learn to embrace the “everything but the kitchen sink” rule that Hannah uses in her creative practice! You’ll leave class with several finished collages and the supplies and skills needed to repeat the fun process at home. All supplies included. Please enter through the 5th Street door.
Teaching Artist: Hannah Flower
Hannah Flower started her artistic career as a little girl by painting on the walls of her childhood home in Kimberly, Oregon. She was obsessed with faces from the very beginning and drew the people she met day to day. Hannah created on different surfaces including many of her mother’s books and any office supplies she could get her hands on. Hannah still draws faces, but has honed her practice, creating on wooden panels, canvases, and only occasionally a wall or two. She is now a mixed media artist, making surreal portraiture that she shares at fairs and venues across the country.
