Introduction to Spanish (Age 18+)
Learn how to introduce yourself in Spanish! Students can express basic information in Spanish about themselves both in writing and orally. Students can learn some pragmatic features of Spanish and apply them appropriately. Learning Spanish is important because it can help tighten the bonds within La Grande and beyond. It can also boost understanding of other cultures, promoting inclusion and diversity. Students will learn how to express basic information in Spanish about themselves both in writing and orally and learn some pragmatic features of Spanish and apply them appropriately. At the end of class, students will leave with a personal bio with all their basic information and the knowledge of how to introduce themselves in Spanish. Please bring a notebook and writing utensil. Please enter through the 5th Street door.
Teaching Artist: Sandra Nava Nieto
Sandra Nava Nieto is a professor of Spanish at Eastern Oregon University. She holds a PhD in Hispanic Studies and a master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language. She has taught Spanish for six years at the university level in courses ranging from introductory to advanced.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
