Learning the Basics: Beginning Drawing (Age 18+)

May 24 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm

In this beginning class, you’ll learn foundational drawing techniques to help start you on your drawing journey! You’ll learn to identify basic form and shape, find light sources, and draw with various shading techniques. Teaching Artist Hannah will be your guide every step of the way. At the end of this fun class, you’ll have several exercise drawings and a piece (on any subject you choose) that you’ve begun and can finish at home. All supplies included. Please enter through the 5th Street door.

Hannah Flower started her artistic career as a little girl by painting on the walls of her childhood home in Kimberly, Oregon. She was obsessed with faces from the very beginning and drew the people she met day to day. Hannah created on different surfaces including many of her mother’s books and any office supplies she could get her hands on. Hannah still draws faces, but has honed her practice, creating on wooden panels, canvases, and only occasionally a wall or two. She is now a mixed media artist, making surreal portraiture that she shares at fairs and venues across the country.
