Lush Canvas: A Night with O’Keeffe (Age 21+)

Learn how to paint calla lilies in the style of American artist Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986)! No experience necessary. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine from K Voelz Wines, charcuterie cup from CharKuterie by Kristy, meet new people, and explore acrylic painting with Teaching Artist Tess in a fun, no-pressure environment. At the end of the evening, you’ll take your beautiful painting home. All supplies included.

Tess Cahill recently graduated from Eastern Oregon University (EOU) with a bachelor’s degree in art. She was born and raised in La Grande, and has had a fondness for crafting since her mother taught her to draw as a child. Tess particularly loves painting and printmaking, and artists from whom she draws particular inspiration include Caroline Walker, Heinrich Kley, and Lois van Baarle. In the last year, Tess exhibited her work in “Liminal”, the 2024 capstone exhibition at EOU’s Nightingale Gallery, and at Cook Memorial Library in La Grande. She works as a substitute teacher in the La Grande School District and makes paintings on the side. In her free time, she loves spending time with friends, going on walks, and playing with her cats. She aspires to travel abroad and work in animation or illustration.
