Opening Reception for “Collideoscope” EOU annual Junior Exhibition

April 4 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Art Center East is proud to host Eastern Oregon University’s annual Junior Theory and Practice art exhibition, “Collideoscope”, in ACE’s Main Gallery. The public is invited to a free opening reception on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 6–8 p.m. at Art Center East. The reception is an opportunity to meet the artists, engage with their work, and learn more about their creative processes. “Collideoscope” will be on display April 4 – 26, 2025.

The EOU Junior Exhibition, held annually at Art Center East, marks a significant step on the artistic path of each student involved. Although this group of junior-year students is cohesive in their shared academic experience, the variety of their artistic processes and creative interests results in a group exhibition that celebrates individual expression.

Part of the EOU Art Department capstone sequence, the Junior Theory and Practice class guides students through concentrated research, writing, and studio exploration. Students in the class have each begun to develop focused bodies of work; these are the pieces on display in “Collideoscope”.

The featured student artists include Shelby Bell, Samantha Choate, Abby Colby, Andrea Grigg, Jack Hess, Henry Hoelscher, Megan Hurley, Elisabeth Munsell, and Baron Ucharm.

This exhibition is made possible through the ongoing collaboration between Eastern Oregon University and Art Center East, reinforcing ACE’s commitment to supporting artists at every stage of their development and fostering a vibrant local arts scene.

Find out more about “Collideoscope” and other ACE exhibits, classes, and events at artcentereast.org. Art Center East is located at 1006 Penn Avenue in La Grande.
