Photography Basics

This class will be an introduction to your digital SLR camera and the basics of composition. You will learn how to move past the auto setting for a more creative approach to photography. We’ll cover camera equipment, composition, lighting, and exposure. In addition to snapping shots in class, students will have a few assignments to shoot between classes that will be discussed by the group. Digital SLR camera required. Please enter through the Penn Avenue door.

Artist Bio: My career in photography started as a teenager. I worked as a freelance photographer selling photos to the local newspapers, some of which were published by the Associated Press. Since then I have evolved into primarily a travel and landscape photographer. That work has sent me Central America and Europe. My work has been shown in galleries, published in magazines and online.
Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation.
