Learn the basics of Punch Needle Rug Hooking: fiber, basic stitch gauges, and all the Punch Needle possibilities! Join this class to explore the fiber arts in a new way, using yarn and fabric to create art. Learn the traditional Punch Needle craft and complete a small project. You’ll leave with a finished “mug rug” and gain the skills to work on larger projects. All supplies included. Parents or guardians are welcome, but not required, to stay with their child/teen for the duration of the class. Please enter through the 5th Street door.
Teaching Artist: Una Walker
Una Walker is a fiber artist from La Grande, Oregon, whose fashion and artwork have been exhibited nationally to rave reviews. She is a sought-after fiber arts teacher and her classes range from beginning to advanced techniques in a variety of mediums. Una is a certified Oxford Punch Needle instructor.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
