Teahouse in the Gallery: Solstice Tea (Age 12+)

Celebrate the winter solstice with a candlelit tasting of three transformative teas (each served with a light snack pairing!) in the ACE Gallery. You will learn about the Chinese tradition of gong fu: tea brewing while exploring tea more deeply than you may have before in terms of flavor, texture, emotion, and physical effects on the body and mind. Come to be surprised by a cup of tea – stay for the good company! No experience necessary. All supplies included. Please enter through the 5th Street door and continue upstairs to the galleries.
Teaching Artist: Sarah West of Teahouse Bakery
Sarah West owns Teahouse Bakery, a Cove, Oregon-based cottage business that specializes in whole grain baked goods, including sourdough bread. Sarah is a self-taught baker who got started on her journey with sourdough bread in a hands-on class at a bakery in Portland; after that she became obsessed with whole grain flavors, textures, and nutritional benefits. She has been teaching popular classes with ACE on whole grain and sourdough baking, cooking, and tea since 2017. She is a member of the Bread Bakers Guild of America.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
