Youth Ceramics Exploration (Ages 8-17) FREE

Explore creating beautiful objects out of clay! No ceramics experience necessary. Teaching Artist Nora will show young students the basic handbuilding techniques necessary to create pieces out of clay and give them an introduction to creative forms, carving, and glazing. Students will pick up their finished piece(s) after they’ve been fired in the ACE kiln. All supplies included. Please enter through the 5th Street door. Drop-ins are welcome while space is available. Only five spots are available per day. Please register early.

Teaching Artist: Nora Crews

Nora Crews has been practicing ceramics for over two years while also experimenting with several other mediums such as drawing, painting, and collage. She is a student at Oregon State University, currently majoring in Graphic Design with a minor in Sculpture. She has always been passionate about trying new things and pursuing art as a career. Nora would love to help you begin or continue your creative journey by teaching you basic pottery skills at Art Center East.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
