Art After Death
April 5, 2019 - April 27, 2019
FreeArt After Death, features Union County at-risk youths. The exhibition is coordinated and curated by Theo Miller, a diversion counselor at the Union County Juvenile Department who leads its “Creative Arts” classes at Art Center East. Art After Death is the fourth showcase of works created in these free weekly classes, open to participants 18 years old and younger.
“This work is so important,” Miller explains, “because what we anecdotally see in our caseloads at the Union County Juvenile Department is that around ninety percent of at-risk youth come to us having no participation in extracurricular activities. When youths have the opportunity to watch community members look at their art, it builds self-esteem and makes them feel a part of the community at large.”

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
