Campfire Guitar: Beginning Guitar for Adults (Age 18+)
January 4, 11, 18, & 25 and February 1, 8, 15, & 22 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Do you have a guitar that you never learned to play? Join this eight-week beginning guitar course and learn with Teaching Artist John! Spend your Winter’s Sunday evenings learning elementary chord structure theory, fingerpicking patterns, learning additional chord vocabulary, and practicing new songs. At the end of the eight-week course, you’ll leave with some new songs to play, an organized practice method to carry forward, and a few calluses on your fingers! Students must bring their own guitar, tuner, and capo. Please enter through the 5th Street door.

John Thurber has taught Campfire Guitar for Art Center East a few times over the years. He spends his time volunteering with Repair Cafe in La Grande. Before his life of community skill-sharing he enjoyed a thirty-five year career as a mathematics teacher.
