Speak Out: Youth Public Speaking (Ages 10-14) FREE!

February 14 & 21, from 9:00 – 11:00 am

Give your child the tools to be a confident and empowered young community member! In this two-session class, each student will explore a topic they feel is important for adults to understand with the aim of speaking about it in public. Teaching Artist Rikki will guide students in learning how to organize their thoughts, create an outline, and craft a speech (maximum three minutes) for delivery during public meetings such as city council or school board meetings. Through discussion, research, and peer feedback, students will gain practical speaking skills to express themselves clearly and respectfully in public – an experience that helps young people develop confidence and a sense of responsibility and civic duty. All supplies included.
