Coronavirus Information

Community Ensembles

Art Center East galleries are closed and all scheduled classes and events are cancelled. If possible, we will reopen after April 3.

(Edit: Our staff have returned in August, and we will be open to the public in September. We are still determining the best direction forward for continuing our class offerings)

We know several of you will have questions about the closure. We will share updates via our website, newsletter list, and social media pages (Facebook and Instagram) as we go. Please know that we will make every effort to get back to you as quickly as possible.

Email inquiries are the best way to contact us at this point:

A few things:

If you are registered for a cancelled class you can 1) rollover your registration fee for use toward a future registration 2) donate your registration fee to ACE 3) request a refund at Please allow a few days to process refund requests.

We will make the gallery available by appointment only for groups of up to 2 people at a time. If you would like to visit the Farmers Markets in Fiber exhibit before its March 28 closing date, please go here to schedule a time between 10am - 4pm Monday - Friday.

Teaching artists: We will be contacting you this week to inquire about rescheduling cancelled classes and our plan for going forward. Please be patient while we work through our list.

Now is the time to step up for the arts. Like everyone else, we are entering uncharted territory and we need your support more than ever. Without cash flow from class registrations and gallery sales, we are put in a delicate financial position.
The best way to help right now:
Make an online donation. We can accept one-time and recurring donations securely via PayPal. Donations will help pay for operations necessary to keeping ACE going during the shutdown. If you prefer donating by check, please mail it to P.O. Box 541, La Grande, OR 97850. Every little bit will help.
Become a member, renew your membership, or upgrade your current membership to a higher level. We now have the option for sustaining memberships that break up the cost of a membership into more affordable monthly recurring payments.
Buy art by Don Gray, this is a special painting selling benefit by renowned contemporary and realist painter & muralist. He grow up in Eastern Oregon, and lives in Vancouver, WA. He is graciously selling his work at a whopping 70% discount, with all proceeds supporting ACE.
