The bookmark – in the shape of an alebrije – is hand-carved of copal wood by artisans from San Martín Tilcajete, Oaxaca. Alebrijes – fantastical creatures that are seen as spirit animals – are part of Mexican Día de los Muertos culture. Each hand-painted bookmark is unique in color and shape.
