Crystal shares, “Calypso used many forms of treasure to entice the mortals- Rubies, diamonds, quartz, silver, copper, and gunmetal perhaps? We are influenced by our emotions, desires, relationships, trials and perhaps a bit of fate and free will as well. Maybe she really just wanted what we all want, to be loved.”
Calypso ‘she who conceals’ was a powerful sea Greek goddess, daughter of Atlas and the sea nymph Pleione. Sailors both loved and feared her, she was well known for her irresistible sensuality, but also for her fickleness and unpredictability. Some say she carried out the sacred task of ferrying souls of those who had perished at sea to the beyond. While others believed she instead tool many forms to entice mortals to their death, by tricking them into falling in love with her and then trapping them under the sea with her forever.
