“Motherland” by Haley White, 2019

This four-color process screen print features historic downtown La Grande in an original collage created by EOU Art Major Haley White, who was born and raised here. As Haley looks to graduation, this piece conveys gratitude for the way she has been shaped and grounded by her hometown amidst the endless possibilities unfolding before her.The membership print you have collected was created to support Art Center East. It is part of an ongoing partnership between the art department at Eastern Oregon University and ACE – two organizations dedicated to building community through education in the arts.

The print is one in an edition of eighty and was printed on Arches 88 Silk Screen paper using Speedball inks. It was created in the printmaking studio on campus by Haley with assistance from Susan Murrell, Associate Professor of Art.
