Serenity by Koedi Birmingham, 2023

The two-color screen print Serenity is a representation of the beauty and fragility of life. With this print the artist wanted to explore how our limited time on this planet, as brief as a flower’s bloom in the spring, is what gives life meaning. Having lived in eastern Oregon most of her life, she included elements close to home: columbine, lupin and the Aspen tree.

This membership print is one in an edition of 70 and was printed on Stonehenge paper using Speedball inks. It was designed and created in the studio on campus by EOU art major Koedi Birmingham (2023 graduate) to benefit Art Center East. It is part of an ongoing partnership between the art department at EOU and ACE – two organizations dedicated to building community through education in the arts
