The Flying Fish by Sadie McIver (embroidery) $375

Sadie shares, “I believe that hand embroidery has became a somewhat lost art. I want to continue the practice of hand-stitched embroider that people have practiced as artistic expression for so long. Choosing to make something by hand is a way of honoring art in a modern era.”

“The Flying Fish” – “Winkin, Blinkin, and Nod” A children’s poem written in 1889 by Eugene Field. Tells the tale of three children as they sail, within a dream, into a celestial sea—Armed with golden and silver nets, they embark on a journey to catch the beautiful fish flying through the stars and sea.

Untitled (fox) – “The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, and the Horse”  Is a children’s story written by Charlie Makesy and tells the story of another adventure. The journey of a boy, mole, horse, and fox who are all searching for something: home. The fox is quiet, and trails behind the other three, rarely talking—When he does speak, he speaks with honesty, and introspective vulnerability.
