Exhibit: The BIG - Art Center East Annual Local Exhibit

Dates: December 6 - January 25

About: We know that the Grande Ronde Valley is home to a vibrant community of artists. In homage to the wealth of talent that makes our little city so “La Grande,” The Big is our annual showcase of local artworks in all mediums. Come to see a sampling of creative talent, leave with a new appreciation of the northeast Oregon art scene. Our biggest exhibit of the year! Cash prizes awarded.

Exhibit: Farmers Markets in Fiber
4th Annual Fiber Arts & Jewelry Exhibit

DatesJanuary 31 - March 28

About:  The exhibit invited artists to use photographs taken at a regional farmers market as a springboard to create new works in fiber. Each artist selected one inspiring image, interpreting its colors, textures, and subject through the lens of their chosen medium. Viewers will have a chance to compare the two – getting a glimpse into the creative process – as the photograph and the finished piece will be displayed side-by-side.

Co-op Gallery

The Art Center East Co-op Gallery features the work of non-juried community artists. As our “DIY” gallery, the Co-op Gallery gives local & regional artists the opportunity plan, hang, publicize their own show, host an opening reception, and sell their artwork. ACE is proud to offer this opportunity to any artist or group of artists 15-years of age or older, expanding our exhibit space and opening up exhibiting opportunities to a broader range of experience levels.

Artwork displayed in the Co-op Gallery show for 2 months and must be wall-mounted, as the floor space is used for movement classes. Past exhibits have included works by local painters, illustrators, and photographers, as well as installation works and group exhibits created for community-focused events and fundraisers.

Art Center East Galleries are open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm & Sat 12-4pm. All exhibits are free and open to the public.
