Exhibit: Dia de Los Muertos: Community Ofrenda, Art Exhibit & Mural

Dates: November 2-14

This November, ACE will feature an exhibit of Dia de Los Muertos inspired art created by local students, a mural designed by Damian Garcia and painted by community members in an Oct 27-Nov 1 workshop, and a community ofrenda (altar) in our Main Gallery. In the two days preceding Dia de Los Muertos (Oct 31 & Nov 1), join ACE in creating our community ofrenda, or altar, where you are invited to bring a photo of a departed loved one along with other traditional offerings, such as calaveras (sugar skulls), food items, and more. Learn how to make calaveras in an Oct 26 class!

Co-op Gallery

The Art Center East Co-op Gallery features the work of non-juried community artists. As our “DIY” gallery, the Co-op Gallery gives local & regional artists the opportunity plan, hang, publicize their own show, host an opening reception, and sell their artwork. ACE is proud to offer this opportunity to any artist or group of artists 15-years of age or older, expanding our exhibit space and opening up exhibiting opportunities to a broader range of experience levels.

Artwork displayed in the Co-op Gallery show for 2 months and must be wall-mounted, as the floor space is used for movement classes. Past exhibits have included works by local painters, illustrators, and photographers, as well as installation works and group exhibits created for community-focused events and fundraisers.

Art Center East Galleries are open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm & Sat 12-4pm. All exhibits are free and open to the public.

Exhibit: Color Profusion

Dates: July 6 until October 26

What’s in a day? Local artist Jeremy Clark will explore the separate moments of one day - hope, anticipation, the unexpected and the inevitable - with a progression of oil, charcoal, and multimedia pieces. As the collection moves from morning to noon to evening - and the viewer with it - we witness a day from this alternate point of view: less as a collection of minutes and hours, more as an unraveling body of experiences and interpretations.
