Our Invitation

If you believe in the power of the arts to build community, we need you! As a working board member, you will shape the future of this vital resource. Board members supervise the Executive Director, oversee finances, and collaborate with staff on planning, policies, finances, fundraising, and public relations. The organization can benefit from everyone’s participation – no previous experience or affiliation with the arts is required – and we are particularly in need of those who can bring fundraising, event planning, diversity/inclusion, financial management, or legal expertise.

Our Schedule

The board tends to be a working board at this time. Meetings are in flux, and times can be adapted to suit member schedules. Board members have ample opportunities to use their expertise in volunteering for other commitments as needed, some contributing approximately 10 hours per month.

My experience as a member of the ACE Board has been both challenging and inspiring. I enjoy being part of a creative and dedicated team of individuals who are determined to offer excellent cultural events and creative expression opportunities to our rural communities in Eastern Oregon. Whenever I attend an exhibit opening, take in a choir concert, or simply browse the gift gallery, I am in awe of the local and regional talent ACE works hard to showcase, and I'm grateful for the chance to lend my small efforts to this work.

Being on the Art Center East Board of Directors has been a great way to give back to the community by helping to plan for the organization's future and supporting staff in getting there. It is a privilege to work with artists, art teachers, and art lovers!
