Batik Watercolor Workshop

We will be using special paper, watercolor, or acrylic paint, wax, and ink to complete an original work of art. Students will complete an original piece of artwork. Join the fun in this class that is open to all levels of students as we Batik handmade papers! You need to bring only a small list of things from home. There will be a 1-hour lunch break from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early to set up your workstation. Please enter through the 5th Street door.

Teaching Artist: Jan Clark
Artist Bios: Jan Clark is a member of the Batik Convergence and is a multiple media specialist who has been working in the art field for many years.
Cost: $70 Member / $85 Non-Member
Supply List
Instructor’s fee included all of the special supplies like gloves, ink, brushes, special wax mix, wax brushes, wax melters, irons, and specialty papers. Please bring as much of the following as possible. We will bring some supplies to share with those who don’t have them. Bring the supply list to La Grande Paint & Glass and receive a 10% discount.
Paints:
- Please bring what you have. Inexpensive sets are available at La Grande Paint & Glass.
Brushes:
- Bring what you have.
Misc.:
- Paper towels
- Palette
- Old hand towel
- Support board (about 16 X 20 and can be heavier cardboard)
- 10 to 15 sheets of newspaper if you have it
- Water container
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Spray bottle
- Photos or magazines for inspiration – simple photos are the best.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
