Theatrical Mask Design & Character Exploration (Age 12+)

Designing and building a mask then bringing the mask to life can be a deeply personal experience that allows you to explore body language. Students will design and build a mask, then learn how to create a character from the mask they built. This class offers spatial awareness and communication skills while promoting storytelling and artistic exploration. All supplies are included in the cost of the class. Teaching Artist: Rikki Jo Hickey
Artist Bio: I am a professional storyteller and director, having earned my bachelor’s at EOU and my Master’s of Fine Arts from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. I have been teaching acting and theatre courses for 20+ years.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
