Watercolor Workshop: Holiday Cards

Let’s get excited for the upcoming holidays by making original watercolor cards! We will paint two designs – one for Christmas and one for Thanksgiving – doing them step-by-step. We’ll take plenty of time with each of them so you can have the design printed on cards if you choose to do so. These will be new designs with patterns. All skill levels welcome! See supply list below. This 2-session class meets in person; please enter through the 5th Street door.

Artist Bio: I have been painting in many mediums and watercolors lend themselves for these smaller projects. Painting has been my love for many years now and have explored oils, pastels, acrylics, collage, mixed media, and watercolors.
SUPPLY LIST
Supplies may be found at La Grande Paint and Glass. Bring in your supply list and receive 10% off your class supplies.
We will paint two designs – FOREST GLOW and THE LEAVES.
WATERCOLOR PAINTS – FOREST GLOW – Winsor & Newton Brand, Neutral Tint, and Winsor Blue is optional. Grumbacher brand – Gamboge Hue, Yellow Ochre, Ultramarine Blue.
WATERCOLOR PAINTS – THE LEAVES – Winsor & Newton brand – Winsor Blue, Neutral Tint. Grumbacher brand – Cadmium Orange, Gamboge Hue, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Alizarin Crimson.
BRUSHES – THE LEAVES – 1 ½” flat, Long liner, No. 10 or 12 rounds.
BRUSHES – FOREST GLOW – 1 ½” Chip brush – cut raggedy, No.2 long liner, No. 8 or 10 round.
MISC. –EACH PAINTING IS A ¼ sheet of 140# Arches Cold Press Watercolor Paper, support board – 1” larger on all sides than the paper, Palette, masking tape, paper towels, old hand towel, handmade transfer paper, spray bottle, water container, scissors, pencil & eraser, white acrylic if you have it. Masking fluid, bar of soap, a rubber cement remover to remove the it.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
