Youth Open Art Studio (Ages 5-16)

Open Art Studio is a great opportunity for children and teens to explore their artistic creativity in a comfortable, no-pressure environment! ACE’s spacious art studio is the perfect space for participants to create their own pieces using the wide variety of art supplies available. Open Studio isn’t a class: it’s an opportunity to just create and explore! Sharing ideas and collaborating on pieces is a fun opportunity, but is not required. Participants will complete their projects during the two-hour session, taking home their unique piece and a sense of wonder and satisfaction. All supplies included. Please enter through the 5th Street door.
Teaching Artist: Rikki Jo Hickey

Rikki Jo Hickey is a theatre artist who has taught theatrical classes, workshops, and summer camps to people of all ages for more than 20 years. She is the owner/instructor at mNemosyne Studios (theatrical and performing arts classes) in La Grande. Rikki holds an MFA in Theatre Direction from University of Hawai’i at Manoa and has studied theatre since she was five years old. She is excited to be partnering with Art Center East to help foster the performing arts in Eastern Oregon.
Parents/guardians of students age 18 or younger must fill out an ACE Youth Release Form. CLICK HERE to access the form.

Registration cancellations & transfers must be made through Art Center East at (541) 624-2800 48 hours or more before the class start time. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for cancellations received after the 48-hour cutoff. Exceptions will be considered for medical or family emergencies. ACE will honor a refund, minus a $10 administration fee when the cancellation is made 48 hours or more before class start date. When a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will issue a refund for all registration fees. ACE will contact you in the event of a cancellation. Face coverings will be required in accordance with statewide regulations current at the time.
