Members are the Heart of Art Center East
Member support is essential to the long-term sustainability of Art Center East. Our members create a vibrant community around the arts while helping to fund our diverse year-round programming. Becoming an Art Center East member shows your dedication to keeping the arts alive and thriving in Northeast Oregon.
Make an Impact as an ACE Member
Art is happening in Union County - our job is to amplify and expand its presence while creating access to the arts for everyone in our community. Your membership enables Art Center East to continue important programs like: 400+ art classes & workshops each year, an Artists in Rural Schools program that serves 10 counties, four community music ensembles, three exhibit galleries, year-round opportunities for local artists to earn income from their work, free community events that promote cultural awareness & exchange, partnerships with local organizations who use art as a tool for rehabilitation and recovery, and much more! We receive almost no outside funding for operational costs, and revenue from programming covers only a fraction of its associated costs. Our member base provides essential resources that help us maintain and build our capacity to serve as the hub of the Grande Ronde Valley art scene, and we truly can’t do it without you. Join us!
Your Membership is Tax Deductible
Art Center East is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt not-for-profit organization. The IRS considers charitable contributions as the difference between your total gift and the “fair market value” of any goods or services received in exchange. The gift amount minus the value of benefits received by the donor may be considered tax deductible to the extent allowable by law. Valued benefits can be waived by the donor, allowing the full donation to be considered a charitable gift.
Membership Print Program
The Membership Print Program is a unique and exciting part of the Art Center East membership program. Each year an EOU art major or alum designs an original image that is printed by current students under the guidance of Susan Murrell, Associate Professor of Art. Art Center East members are offered a print of their choice (while supplies last) when they sign up or renew their membership at the Household level or higher. The program is twofold: giving art students a chance to work collaboratively and gain experience with printing larger quantities than is practical within the curriculum, while creating a beautiful gift to thank members for their support of a valuable community arts organization. Find out more and see example of Membership Prints here.
Give a Gift Membership
Whether it’s a present for a birthday, holiday, or any special occasion, an Art Center East Membership is a wonderful way to give the gift of art! Your gift recipient will receive notification with their membership that the gift is from you and will enjoy the benefits of membership all year long. A Gift Membership is a great way to welcome your friends and loved ones into the Art Center East community.
Double Your Impact!
Ask your employer if they match charitable contributions to local nonprofits. Your membership fee is a tax deductible donation to Art Center East and your employer may have a donation-match program already in place (or they may like to know that you are interested in starting one) to help double your impact on the arts in Union County.
